Dating back to the early 1800’s references of the hotel can be found as early as 1804 when the landlord of the Beaufort Inn as it was previously named would hold the key to the gate of the Abbey and augment his income by admitting visitors and conducting tours. The area originally occupied by the Abbey was much larger than it is today. Tintern Abbey Hotel offers family friendly hotel accomodation.
