In the 17th Century Hestan Island was a hideaway for smugglers. In more recent years its inhabitants were of a more law abiding kind and now it is home only to seabirds and sheep. Lying in Dumfries & Galloway in Scotland’s South West Balcary Mews is a beautiful home on the sea front. We are located off the A711 Dumfries to Kirkcudbright road 2 miles out of Auchencairn at the end of the shore road. Children are very welcome at Balcary Mews B&B.
