Known as ’Chelsea-on-Sea’ Burnham Market has an attractive green surrounded by fine Georgian houses and flint cottages. It is the largest of the seven ’Burnham’ settlements and boasts a wide variety of independent and specialist shops. Britain’s most famous seafaring hero Lord Nelson was born at nearby Burnham Thorpe and it was his father Edmund who opened The Nelson in 1805. Children are very welcome at The Nelson.
